CSEA Attends the 2026 On Think Tank (OTT) Conference

Dr Chukwuka Onyekwena, Executive Director of the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA), participated in  the 2026 On Think Tanks (OTT) Conference, held from 19 to 21 May 2026 in Rabat, Morocco. The conference, hosted by the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) at its campus, marked a dual milestone: the 10th edition of the OTT Conference and the 15th anniversary of On Think Tanks as a global platform supporting think tanks and evidence-informed policymaking. 

The programme began with a public event on the evening of 19 May, hosted by PCNS, and concluded with a cocktail reception on the evening of 21 May. 

Dr Onyekwena contributed to the discussions. He took an active role in the programme, including speaking at sessions and leading discussions. The central question explored at the conference was: Can think tanks remain trustworthy and relevant in a world where trust is eroding? Discussions addressed the growing fracture in social and political trust, the declining value placed on evidence in public debate, and the implications of these trends for think tanks' ability to influence policy.
