The Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA), Associates for Change, Ghana, and CERFODES, Burkina Faso, convened a dissemination event on July 28, 2026 to share findings from the project “Advancing Educational Solutions: Research for Scaling Education Innovations in Emergencies and Fragile, Conflict and Violence-affected areas" . The event brought together researchers, government representatives and civil society organisations to discuss findings on education in fragile and conflict-affected settings and explore opportunities for translating research into policy and practice.
The sessions included deep-dive situational analyses from Nigeria and Ghana, insights into education innovation effectiveness from Sierra Leone, and a compelling look at the economics of education through the lens of domestic innovative financing. Participants engaged in robust exchange of ideas and a comprehensive review of the project’s progress. The discussions highlighted the importance of context-specific education solutions, stronger financing mechanisms and collaboration among government, research institutions and other stakeholders in addressing barriers to education in fragile settings.
The event concluded with discussions on the next steps for the project and opportunities to strengthen the uptake of research findings to support more effective and sustainable education interventions across the focus countries.
