Okorie David Iheke

David Iheke OKORIE is currently an Adjunct Professor, Senior Lecturer, in Economics at the New Zealand University of Waikato, Waikato Management School (WMS), School of Accounting, Finance and Economics (SAFE). He supervises students’ research and teaches Econometrics, Microeconomics, International Economics, and other range of courses in Economics. David has worked as a post-Doctoral researcher at the School of Management, Xiamen University, China. He also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE) and the School of Economics (SOE), Xiamen University, China.


Dr. Okorie has a doctorate in Economics, a master’s degree in Econometrics, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics. He completed his graduate studies at Xiamen University (XMU), China after completing his undergraduate study at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), Nigeria.


Dr. Okorie has introduced a couple of econometric and calibration models in Economics and Finance. His research studies focus on Sustainable Climate Finance, Renewable Energy Transition, Financial Econometrics, and General Equilibrium Modelling. Dr. Okorie has published award-winning articles in top-ranking journals like Energy Economics, Finance Research Letters, Energy, Journal of Cleaner Productions, Financial Innovations, North American Journal of Economics and Finance, etc.

Research Areas of Engagement at CSEA: Dynamic and Static CGE modelling, Renewable Energy Transitioning, Decarbonization & Net-zero, Financial Econometrics, and other related areas.
