International Conference On ‘Mega Trading Blocs: Implications For Developing Countries

The Commonwealth Secretariat, in collaboration with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development(UNCTAD) and the Centre for WTO Studies hosted policymakers, the academia and other stakeholders at the international conference on “Mega Trading Blocs: Implications for Developing Countries” to discuss the implications of the rise of mega regional trading blocs.

The conference which held on December 15-16, 2014, New Delhi, India provided a platform for participants to engage in an extensive debate on the implications of mega trading blocs as well as legal analysis of the trading arrangements. It also facilitated the exchange of ideas and views among experts who identified issues that require further research and investigation to support capacity-constrained developing countries in negotiations of trade deals. Dr. Ebere Uneze joined the panel discussion on “Politics of Mega Trading Blocs and Implications for the Multilateral Trading System”.
