Research Fellow
Dr. Adamu Ahmed Wudil is a Research Fellow at the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA). He holds a PhD. in Economics from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), where he emerged as the Best Student Doctor of Philosophy in the Kulliyyah of Economics and
Management Sciences, having undertake his PhD coursework at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. He also holds an MSc and BSc in Economics from Bayero University Kano, Nigeria. His research interests span Development Economics, Energy Economics, monetary Economics, and Islamic Economics and Finance, with a particular focus on Development Finance.
Before Joining CSEA, he served as an Assistant Manager at the Bank of Agriculture Limited, where he contributed to policy design and strategic planning. He has also held leadership positions, including serving as President of the Nigerian Economics Students’ Association (NESA), Bayero
University chapter, and as Speaker of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences Students’ Association. His research has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals, with notable contributions to discussions on foreign aid, government spending, Islamic microfinance, SDGs, financial development, environmental degradation and social development.
Adamu is working on several research projects, including public finance efficiency in Nigeria and the Accelerated Education Program (AEP) at CSEA. He is an active member of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management (CILRM) and has participated in
high-level policy engagements aimed at shaping economic and development policies in Africa and Asia.
