Non – Resident Senior Fellow
Yewande Olapade is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston, United States where she conducts independent, policy-relevant research to form recommendations, and provide expert report on issues that border on trade, politics, and firm’s adjustment to government policy. She teaches Statistical Methods for Policy Research and was an instructor in the department of economics at the University of Houston where she taught both introductory and advanced classes in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
Her research lies at the intersection of international economics, industrial organization, and economic development and focuses on the welfare effects of trade reforms and globalization, growth and productivity in developing economies, and firm dynamics underlying macroeconomic performance. Much of her work combines both empirical and theoretical computable general equilibrium (CGE) model to quantify the impacts of trade policy.
She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Houston, United States. She also holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Texas, San Antonio. She received her B.Sc. degree in Economics with First Class honors from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.
