Sub-Regional Workshop Of The West Africa Think Tank Initiative (WATTI) Network


The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), Ghana hosted a 3-day sub-regional workshop of the West Africa Think Tank Initiative (WATTI) Network on September 14-16, 2015, Accra, Ghana. The theme of the workshop was Strengthening West African Policy Research and Advocacy. The main objective of the workshop is to promote socio-economic and political development in West Africa through evidence-based research and advocacy, as well as collaboration and cross-learning among think tanks in West Africa.

The workshop also provided a platform for participants to deliberate on the purpose, role, structure, design and functions of the proposed network as well as plan modalities for the formal launch of the network in March 2016. Dr. Chukwuka Onyekwena joined other Executive Directors and Senior Researchers from Think Tanks across Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Nigeria for the event.
