Joseph Ishaku is a research fellow at the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA). Over the past few years, Ishaku has garnered experience in development research and practice, especially in education. He received a bachelor’s degree from the American University of Nigeria (AUN) in 2012 and a master’s degree from University College London (UCL) in 2015, all in economics. He had worked in education practice as a teacher and administrator. Ishaku was part of the 2018 cohort on the On Think Tank – Think Tank Initiative (OTT-TTI) Fellowship. His current research largely focuses on education systems reform and equitable delivery of learning outcomes, especially in Nigeria. Other research interests include livelihoods in conflict and displacement, political economy analysis of public health policies, and development cooperation.
