Dr. Ebere Uneze and Drusilla David, CSEA, joined representatives of 12 other African think tanks in Nairobi, Kenya from April 28 to April 30, 2014 for the second phase of the TTIPEC programme. The TTIPEC programme was launched in July 2013 in Accra, Ghana by the Results for Development (R4D) in collaboration with the Think Tank Initiative (TTI), and Comms Consult.

The TTIPEC programme is aimed at helping leading think tanks in Africa develop skills and strategies for effective communications that will facilitate the dissemination of research findings to inform and influence policy in their respective countries. The programme also provided an opportunity for think tanks to engage in peer-learning.

The second phase of the TTIPEC programme provides a platform for think tanks to explore strategies for sustaining policy engagement and communication learning beyond the end of the project.

The workshop featured different sessions including:

  • Mapping Areas of Greatest Progress in Communications
  • Developing Effective Institutional and Project Specific Communications Strategies
  • Effective Policy Engagement: Mapping Target Audiences
  • Monitoring and Evaluating Strategies for Policy Engagement and Communication
